The Last Chapter is in fact the last book written by Ernie Pyle.
All of his previous books about life in the Southwest, WW2 in England, Aftrica, Sicily, Italy, & France brought to life the 1930's & 1940's.
These books are easy & fun reads.

GREAT Historical Book
This book is both a tribute to Ernie Pyle and the service men that thought so much of him. This is his last book and dealt with the war in the Pacific. Unfortunately for the world, he was killed by a Japanese bullet on Ie Shima. Ernie Pyle told little true stories about the men in service during WWII. Snippets of how they lived and fought the war. Our WWII veterans are almost all gone, but we will have a record of what some of them did for us. The book has some black and white pictures of Ernie and "his boys". Very interesting reading that doesn't get into the tactics of the war, but gives us a glimpse into the men who fought it. I highly recommend this book!
