Seller's Description:
Good. Size: 16.8 x 1.5 x 24 cm; Condition good, clean. West Riding 1 was published in early 2004, the year in which the West Riding Automobile Company would have celebrated its Centenary. It followed the company history from the tram era through to its loss of identity when finally absorbed by Arriva in 2000. In this second volume author David Allen now tracks the two major companies absorbed by West Riding, J Bullock and Sons (1928) Ltd (B & S Motor Services) of Featherstone in 1950 and then South Yorkshire Road Transport of Pontefract through Caldaire Holdings in 1994. Both those companies developed from the same Bullock family transport roots at the turn of the last century. Following the now established and popular Super Prestige format, this book has an extended introductory text and around 150 illustrations, many in colour, accompanied by detailed captions to complete the story of one of the most individual of the West Riding of Yorkshire operators.
