This edition of Chaucer is excellent. I've learned so much from my reading it about Chaucer and the english language.

Great edition of Chaucer
If you are taking a Chaucer class, the paperback Riverside Chaucer is a great alternative to the hardback version. It's so much easier to carry, and the two editions are exactly alike, page for page. Whenever my instructor refers us to a page from her hardback edition, I always find exactly the same thing in my paperback. The Riverside is, of course, the most highly regarded edition of Chaucer's works. You'll have to read everything in Middle English, but there is excellent annotation to help you. Especially helpful are the essays that introduce the various works, especially Canterbury Tales.
