This book dealt with a topic not often discussed in Christian romances: how to respond appropriately to the person with AIDS. In this story, one man is a homosexual, dying of AIDS, while his twin is heterosexual. It explores the issue of homosexuality within the framework of a love story between the straight brother and an old girlfriend. Although it was slow to start, it actually dealt with many different issues in the book regarding several relationships: between the estranged twins, between parents and their children, and between a widow and widower. It was a pretty good story and treated the subject fairly. It revealed the pride and hypocrisy that both twins had and how that had come between them.
