Seller's Description:
Very Good. First edition stated. 8vo in brick-red cloth, titles and illustrations in black. Binding tight and square, hinges firm, moderate rubbing at the corners and spine ends. The dustjacket is not price-clipped, rubbing at the corners with a bit of loss, very shallow chipping at the spine ends. Inscribed by Corle to George and Colette Armsby, with the inscription and Corle's signature dated July 16, 1940. Armsby was a significant entrepeneur and industrialist of the early 20th century. Colette was his second wife, much younger than George and reported by the NY Times as an ex-showgirl. George has a pretty lengthy Widipedia page.
