Gold is in essence a hodgepodge of remixes, B-sides, demos, album tracks, and a live recording. Most tracks that are termed dance mixes are in fact long versions, as in "The Biggest Fool of All," which is very nicely done and has added acoustic guitar breaks. Only one cut can be called "dance mix" in the modern sense: a fantastic reinforced version of "El Norte." The best B-sides are undoubtedly "Peace on Earth" and "Blood of a Saint."
