Very Good- 256 pp. Armed Services Edition R-12. Edgewear with creasing on the covers and spine; some fading on the spine. For anyone who doesn't know the Armed Services Editions, these were softcover books that were printed from 1943 to 1946 by the Council on Books in Wartime. They were distributed to American servicemen during World War II and a great many of them are in such rough condition because they were carried in the packs of soldiers around the battlefields of Europe and the Pacific. All were complete books, not digests, and featured a wide array of subjects. The Council's slogan during the war was "Books are weapons in the war of ideas."
