Musically, when the cut switches to overdrive, Carlton's performance does, as well. "This Is Faith" is the type of melody that has adult contemporary written all over it. Vocally, Carlton has the ability to change his timbre and resonance to match each cut whether the tune leans toward adult contemporary or a rock vibe. Perhaps the disc's finest moment comes courtesy of the acoustically driven "Home." Here, Carlton seems the most comfortable. The song is stripped down to drums, bass, and acoustic guitar and finds the artist leaning on a memorable melody while utilizing a falsetto tone. Falling In is a stellar debut from Andrew Carlton.
