My sister recommended this book to me and I really didn't know what to expect: She just said, "Read it and trust me." And she was right, Rothschild's book of essays that span his childhood and early adulthood are so touching and funny at the same time. Dealing with his awkward years living in NYC with his grandparents (since his mother's too busy trying to keep married to rich men) is so painful and raw that you have to keep remembering that he ended up fine....There is one line about not holding his mother's hand until he was ten (and that was because they were crossing the street in Italy) that broke my heart. His grandparents (and all their quirks) become the real heroes of this book, besides Rothschild himself, of course.
