Distant Thunders is the fourth installment in Anderson's "Destroyermen" series, a parallel universe saga that takes place during our WWII timeframe. Unlike some book series where each successive book becomes less interesting than the one before (notably the DUNE series), Anderson maintains the same level of interest and excitement in every book.
