This math book covers all basic mathematics in a very easy to understand way. However, it does not come with the software and internet access to the author's math site that you will find when you pay full price through a college bookstore. I ended up buying both because I didn't realize this and thought I was getting a great bargain through alibris. However, I've written in one book and have the other to flag and use as a reference. This book is the foundation of math and will allow you to move on to algebra and other higher math. How I WISH this had been my textbook in middle and high school, I would not have struggled so much. You can teach yourself with this book. The author of this math book also struggled with math in his youth and so he is able to teach it to others to make it understandable and less mysterious. Things you will learn: the metric system, compound interest, all the basics of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, word problems, decimels, geometry, etc. It ends with basic algebra.
