The Friends of the Torrance Library is a nonprofit organization dedicated to working for better libraries for the Torrance, California community. All the work is done by volunteers. The Friends have been selling used books to the Torrance community for over 40 years and on the Internet for over 10 years. We have 3,500 to 4,000 books and A/V items in our online inventory. Our practice is to price our books at least 20% lower than other sellers and to provide an accurate description of the condition of each book. Because the work is done by volunteers, all our proceeds benefit the Torrance Library. Thus, we play a critical role in raising funds for the Library's adult and children's programs and new library services.
