The beginning of Little Miss Sunshine will put you ill at ease, perhaps. Unless, of course, you recognize the oddity of families and the uniqueness of individuals.
The cast is brilliant, the characters a bit creepy at first. Chances are, however, that you will be able to relate to one of them, whether it be the teenager who has not spoken in over 9 months, a father who is trying to morph into Tony Robins and think positively about EVERYTHING! Then, of course, there is the creepy, yet wonderful grandfather. And that's just PART of the family! The mother is trying to hold the family together while falling apart herself....and then there's the daughter who attempts to emulate "Miss America" while looking like Pippi Longstocking!
Open your heart and mind to this movie, I did and I LOVED it! I laughed out loud and smiled the rest of the evening.
P.S. Steve Correll is not too bad either:) He can run down the street in this movie, and it makes me remember why I like him so much!

This is one of those movies where the writer creates a multitude of eccentric characters and throws them into a script - the story writes itself!
