What a horse & what a story! Until Secretariat came along, no horse could match this one for stamina & heart. Laura Hillebrand told it in the book & it was captured on film perfectly, with all the actors cast perfectly! Jeff Bridges, always impeccable, portrays a tycoon who loses everything, including the most important, then bets it all on a broken down horse, but only with the help of a horse whisperer, portrayed by Chris Cooper, probably the best character actor ever. Tobey Maguire has the spirit & heart to match Seabiscuit's as the scrappy, intelligent jockety, who gets into the profession by chance; but he knows what he is doing, and knows his horse. It is a wonderful, heartwarming movie, and most of all, it is true. You will watch it again & again over the years. Suitable for kids over ten, who will love it too.
