Some people say that if you remember the '60s, you weren't there; that if you were there you surely blew your mind on so many drugs that you couldn't possibly remember it, but many of us innocents came with open arms to embrace mainly the music. We do remember and for us at least, "Almost Famous" recaptures the joy, innocence and freedom of those years. The cast was awesome, particularly Kate Hudson and Frances McDormand and Billy Crudup and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Every time McDormand's character told her son "Don't do drugs," I got a smile on my face. The music (Elton John et al), story line and editing were terrific. And, oh yes, the happy ending was the icing on the cake! Parents of the '60s, watch this with your kids and grandkids.
