This 1978 war drama and mild action thriller puts Burt Lancaster with a troop of escaped war criminals to overtake a nuclear missile silo set to uphold nuclear Armageddon less their ransoms are met with the President in tow to the reasons of the Vietnam war. A post-Vietnam/ post-Cold War, anti-war film precedent to latter heroic war movies, the tension is high to a few conspiracies abroad and the message is insightful despite some lack believability, the movie is a time capsule for the '70's undeniably. The ending is left for scrutiny, but a film for '70's nostalgia fans nonetheless.
