Howard Keel and Jane Powell are riveting in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. This musical is the story of seven brothers who live so far out in the wilderness that although they are all strong, handsome and bright, they cannot find wives. After the eldest sweeps a young beautiful housekeeper off her feet and to the church, they settle into married life. The bride finds herself waiting on seven men who have no clue as to housekeeping and cooking! Shortly, the other brothers decide to emulate the Romans who stole the Sabine women to be their brides. Chaos ensues but it is wonderful to see and hear.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. When Millie marries Adam, she has no idea that he has six wild and untamed brothers. She soon tames them and teaches them manners. The fun really begins when Adam decides to help his brothers get wives on the same principle as the story of the Sabine Women!
