I really liked this book. Three criminals make plans & set upon a destiny that is brilliant in the theme of "Strangers on a Train" type scheme. Each, as he is released from prison or court is to set out and murder 3 enemies of one of the other in the group. Initially, this was to be conversation to pass the time while waiting on a court break as police tried to catch an escaped con. Believed to be a joke by at least one of the men, it becomes all too real when people are murdered or attempts are made on their lives from one of the lists. There is romance on the fringes of Stewart novels, but this is a true suspense thriller. Making no sense, people with the same first initial of Mara (the female lead) and same last name are being murdered. Additionally, there are other people murdered without an obvious connection to her. Her hero puts some of it together and it is found that she is the real target as she is the only other connection with the other two people murdered from a previous court case. The twists and turns keep you guessing and make you want to read all three books in the series in order to find out what destiny has wrought of the original plan. Get this read for the suspense, get the others in the series as you will not be disappointed.
