What happens when freedom of speech, assembly and the 14th amendment are "thrown under the bus"? When money rules politics and the middle class disappears? What happens when corporations are treated as individuals and can contribute as much to political campaigns as they want; when candidates are sponsored like race cars and corporate logos rule? Self-proclaimed savior, William Prescott, is running for President. His fool-proof plan to extinguish Liberalism and save the world from economic and social destruction seems like a sure fire winning platform. But when the people closest to him threaten his presidential aspirations, will he choose family over his political destiny? Can love conquer all, or are money and power the forces that drive the universe? 2036 is a journey of love; a tale of economic, moral and ethical struggle that explores the battle between liberal and conservative, rich versus poor and love versus money.

I grabbed this as a freebie having never read this author before. I didn't have very high hopes because I thought the cover was a little cheesy. I was pleasantly surprised. The book was very well written, and the plot was different enough to keep me interested. The villain was very creepy and twisted, but the author was able to give descriptions and plant ideas in the imagination without graphically gory details. The romance also had plenty of sexual tension but with a very capable heroine and without having to rely on excessively graphic sex scenes to make up for lack of plot. I really enjoyed it and will read more of this author.

You'll adore it
This book is truly well written, every part is interesting and intriguing! If you're like me, you don't always read a whole book in one sitting. So, in my case, I found myself wondering what the charaters were doing when I wasn't able to be reading. That's how real and enjoyable the book is! I hope you buy it and enjoy it as much as I did. I can't wait for the next one!

This book was written for me, I swear. I just finished it after 3 days of neglecting everything else in my life, and thought, "Finally, the powers that be created a story teller who is capable of writing pages in which every single word is completely to my tastes."
The history and the theories behind politics, religion, socio-economics...well I'm a complete sucker for all of that and Hodges played them perfectly. He wove together several different theories and myths that many people wouldn't associate but it's incredibly believable and makes you want to put your thinking cap on and theorize right along with him.
The science-fiction portions of the book were incredibly understandable and seemingly accurate. Whether you're a geek or have never watched or read anything "sciency" you'll understand it and it will fascinate you.
The writing style is so swift and yet easy going at the same time. The book moves you right along, yet everything is well explained. There are some funny one-liners in it...just the right amount so that they do read as funny instead of cheesy. The action scenes are actually imaginable, like a little movie in my head (and I swear this book will be a huge movie someday) unlike so many other action books. And there is just the teeny tiniest dash of romance thrown in there so your heart smiles for a mere second but you are not in danger of gagging.
So the book was excellent, I absolutely can't wait for the next one, and I will 100% recommend it to everyone!!
