Comprehensive and comprehensible
These books are clearly written and useful for self instruction. The first chapter of volume 1 has the clearest description of affine spaces and affine transformations that I have ever read. The books feature many general examples and then specific ones that can be used to insure the readers understanding of the principle and the application. The books use a spiral teaching technique that introduces a topic at the basic level and then repeats the topic at a later point with broader applications of the same principles. This is a set of books that I heartily recommend for anyone interested in the mathematics of physical science.
