A generation later, the Color Kittens still delight adults and children in their adventure "to make all the colors in the world." I sent a Valentine's Day copy to my 3-year-old great-granddaughter and asked her older sisters to read it aloud to her (my Stealth project to preserve the printed word). The art work is superb and the language is music--not a trace of the weary cuteness that characterizes some children's literature. And it is the 3-year-old's current favorite. Mine too.

rhythmic read-aloud
The varied rhythms and alliterations in this book make it a joy to read. It was one of my favorites as a child and one of my favorites as a mother reading to my children.

Well Loved Golden Book
This book has been popular since it was first published over 50 years ago. A simple story about colors made lovely thanks to the charming words of Margaret Wise Brown & the beautiful illustrations of Garth Williams.
