Fall for Grace
Grace Flint has slipped a little since her first two outings. She remains a cut above most of thrillerdom's characters. Perhaps my judgment has been clouded, since I read "Code" between Steig Larsson's second and third Lisbeth Salander books, which is setting the bar very high indeed. But Grace is an old friend and Eddy plots quite well, drawing on the expertise evident in his six or so non-fiction outings. He does not leave us with a mere reflection of the old Grace, but develops her life and character while showing us something about how the legal process and back channels work.
Grace has not appeared in a new book for some time now. I will miss her if she slips away into the twilight.
