A cattle breeder himself, Butler was commissioned by the Ontario government to paint "true types" of Canadian livestock breeds to be used for agricultural education and breeding purposes. He was instrumental in founding Canada's first artifical insemination cattle facility in Canada. He was also famous for his butter scuptures at Toronto's Royal Winter Fair. 160 pages illustrated in colour and B&W. Oblong 8vo (8 1/4" x 10"). Slight wear at bottom edge. Signed by author at the Royal Winter Fair in 1998.
