ALAN VILLIERS (1903-82) was a renowned Australian sailor, writer and photographer. Originally published in 1940, his Sons of Sindbad is his account of sailing with the Arabs in their dhows in southern Arabia, along the East African coast and in the Arabian Gulf, to record a nautical and cultural tradition that even then was disappearing. The present book is a selection of many of the unpublished photos he took and which were not included in the 1940 book. They have been selected and introduced here by William Facey, Yacoub al-Hijji and Grace Pundyk. Unmarked, VG++ in VG+ dustjacket-slight curl to dustjacket top and bottom. 34 x 25 cm, weight 2 kg packed-extra shipping costs may be required depending on destination. 58.
