Very good. 68pp. Slender quarto [27.5 cm] White and black pictorial wraps. From the Introduction by F. Dennis Lessard-"The idea of a Symposium on the topic of Crow Indian Art was formulated by Ellis Richard from the Grand Teton National Park in Moose, Wyoming in February of 1980. Speakers were contacted and plans were made but funding never materialized and plans came to a halt...The Chandler Institute decided to build upon the groundwork done by Mr. Richard, and in April of 1981 sponsored the First Annual Symposium devoted to Crow Indian Art. All of the authors who had contributed articles to the special Crow issue of American Indian Art were invited to speak as well as five other knowledgeable students of various facets of Crow Indian Art. The conference was lively and informative but again, many views presented were controversial. With the publication of these papers, we hope this information will reach a wide audience and stimulate further investigation and debate."
