Collectible-New in None as Issued jacket. First Edition, First Thus BRAND NEW Copy. This novel is written under the nome de plume U.S. Five, a consortium of one professor and four students of Jacksonville Univ, Florida. It is the reconstruction of the life of one Herman Mudgett (1858-1896) from letters and records in a sealed box discovered in 1995. Mudgett (alias Herman, Henry, Howard, and Hatch) was conceived from a man of cloth and a woman already in wedlock. Much loved by the ladies, Mudgett was America's first serial killer and met his death by hanging in Philadelphia. This fictional re-enactment is deftly written. Use of purported written records of various types and monologues allowed the unique voice of collaborating authors to speak individually while maintaining an integral whole.
