Very Good+ in Good dust jacket. 0874741122. Hardcover first printing with dustjacket, "In this thorough study of the events leading to our first launching of an earth satellite, authors Green and Lomask digest and analyze hundreds and thousands of factors that went into the accomplished fact of our coming abreast of the Russians, and our subsequent leadership in space and our landing on the moon, " illustrated throughout with photos and diagrams, the former owner had placed masking tape on the underside of the dustjacket, we have removed the tape but the entire underside has a tan-colored glue residue that remains, it is also noticeable on the outside of the white flaps, it is not noticeable on the outside of the predominantly black front and rear panels or spine so although this is a major flaw the overall appearance of the dustjacket is not bad, the book has a small amount of tape-residue on the cover and tape-marks on the blank end-papers but it is not terribly unsightly and the overall condition of the book is quite good, the binding is tight and square, and the contents are fine, we've placed an archival (removable) mylar cover on the dustjacket to prevent it from coming into contact with the book, this is an important and scarce history of our early space efforts.
