Your friend, Davis Grubb. ' Also with a funny self-portrait of the author drawn in pencil on the pastedown. 1978, First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good in a Good dust jacket. Light foxing to the foredge of the text-block; light shelfwear to the covers; clean contents. DJ stained and foxed; shallow loss to upper edge of the rear panel. In the early part of 1979 Grubb stayed with the Murphy family in Morgantown, WV while teaching at WVU. After getting caught smoking dope with teenager Michael (to whom this book is inscribed) the Murphy parents asked Grubb to leave, but he pled insolvency and they allowed him to stay until the end of the semester, describing him as a wreck, messy, constantly stoned or drunk and with the worst hygiene imaginable. DJ comes in a mylar wrap.
