This book has so much wonderful history in it that even though I normally am not a history buff, I found myself learning so much about the early days of America. To keep it interesting, the story line is well connected to the previous volumes. I found myself ordering the next volume and the next. Would highly recommend this series to anyone who is an avid reader of sagas!! John Jakes is a wonderful author !!
