He was Secretary of Liverpool Council of Churches (1964-1967) and then became the Radio and Television Officer to Archbishop Michael Ramsay until 1972. He was then Vicar of St Matthews's in Fulham until 1978, and he was Vicar of St Mary's, Ealing from 1978 until 1991. Until his retirement at the end of 2000 he had been Canon Treasurer of St Paul's Cathedral in London. He is well respected as one of the Country's finest writers of Hymns and has written his own Autobiography entitled 'A Faint Streak of Humility' 8vo 180pp First Edition 1st Impression Size: 8vo-over 5¾"-7¾" Tall.
