Events are seen through the eyes of a child, whose incomprehension of adult behaviour and motives adds to the suspense. The story revolves around Arthur, a child who is sent to stay on his cousin's farm for the duration of the war.

The head & tail of the spine of the book are both lightly bumped and the tail of the boards are lightly rubbed. The dust wrapper has not been price clipped but does have a little creasing to the head of the spine of the wrapper. Light shelf wear-no niks or tears. A very good copy.
