    Irma must be turning in her grave to see what's been done to her cookbook in the name of modernizing. Whomever is left in the family certainly have not carried on her tradition. As one instance they have changed the Chicken Cacciatore recipe from a simple and extremely tasteful one with elegance and depth of flavor to a pseudo-Italian mess with chopped tomatoes.olives and a mess of chopped onion rather than the one with shallots, mushrooms and brandy. Phooey!
    Buy a copy of the older and unrevised Joy of Cooking. The one that hasn't had the joy removed.
