Verne Clemence

VERNE CLEMENCE was born in Kindersley in western Saskatchewan in 1937. He gave up on his dream to become a farmer after contracting polio in his early teens. He started in journalism with the "Kindersley Clarion" and moved on to the "Yorkton Enterprise" and finally the "Saskatoon StarPhoenix." He has been a book reviewer for many years and continues to write a book column for the "StarPhoenix." He live in Saskatoon with his wife Miriam.
