Michel Tremblay

Michel Tremblay, a French-Canadian native of Montreal, is both a dramatist and writer of fiction. Born June 25, 1942, he is known as an experimental and avant-garde writer. He has written a number of novels, including the autobiographical The Fat Woman Next Door Is Pregnant (1981). His collection of stories Contes pour buveurs attardA[a¬As (1966; translated as Stories for Late-Night Drinkers, 1974) included "The Thimble."
