Sir John Edwin Sandys

Sir John Edwin Sandys (1844-1922) was one of the outstanding classical scholars of his generation. A Fellow of St Johns College, Orator Emeritus at Cambridge University, and Lane Lecturer at Harvard University (1905), he received honorary degrees from the universities of Oxford, Dublin, Edinburgh and Athens.
