Jiri Mucha

Jiri Mucha was born in Prague, the son of Alphonse Mucha, the Art Nouveau artist. He was bought up in Prague, Paris and New York, and studied literature and medicine in Prague and Paris. He served as a BBC war correspondent in North Africa, the Middle East, Burma, China, and Europe. Arrested for alleged espionage in 1951, Jiri was released in 1954, whereupon he dedicated his life to publishing short stories, novels and memoirs.
