Jan Eliot started cartooning when she was a young working mom trying to make ends meet and still have fun once in a while. Her early efforts resulted in the comic strip "Patience and Sarah" which appeared in weekly publications for 5 years. Her second comic strip, "Stone Soup", began as a weekly but moved to national daily distribution in 1995.
