Hermann Vinke

Hermann Vinke, born in 1940 in Rhede, Germany, is an international journalist and author and editor of numerous nonfiction books. He has worked at various newspapers and as a radio correspondent covering Tokyo, the Baltic States, and Washington, DC. Vinke has written extensively about people who bravely resisted Nazism. His work The Short Life of Sophie Scholl was awarded the German Youth Book Prize in 1981 and later translated into English.
