George Bird Grinnell

About the Author American author George Bird Grinnell (1849 -1938) was an anthropologist, historian and writer born in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Yale University with a Ph.D. in 1880. He focused on zoology and became a conservationist and studied Native American life. Grinnell has been commended for his work on legislation to preserve the American bison and influence on public opinion.
