Frank Dunlop

Frank Dunlop was born in Kilkenny in 1947. After a short career in journalism with RTE he became Fianna Fail's press officer in 1974. When the party came into power in 1977, he took over the running of the Government Information Service. The following year the Taoiseach Jack Lynch, appointed him as Ireland's first Government Press Secretary, in which capacity he also served Lynch's successor, Charles Haughey.
