Aileen Campbell

Aileen Campbell was born near Brahan Castle in northern Scotland. An art enthusiast even as a young girl, she was greatly influenced by J. Pittendrigh Macgillivray, the appointed king's limner, or royal painter, for Scotland. During World War II, she served as a registered nurse and certified nurse-midwife in both Scotland and England before immigrating to Canada.
