Biography of Aaron Aalborg Aaron Aalborg was born near Manchester, England. Until 10 he was taught by German nuns. He now thinks some were Nazi men fleeing retribution. They had moustaches and behaved with great brutality. Did these misanthropic penguins have their SS tattoos secreted beneath their flapping black habits? They certainly hated boys. Aaron was expelled for cumulative rebellious behavior. At a Catholic grammar school he studied to become a monk. He confessed doubts to a priest, who said he did not believe in God himself and found it no obstacle to his calling. Thereafter, the author led a dissolute and disreputable life through his later years at school and university. He was 'mad, bad and dangerous to know'. On completing his masters, he realized that worldly success might be more fun than being a poor and inebriated rebel. He joined the Royal Marines Reserve and had a long international business career. This included marketing and general management. In London, he led a corporate finance department in an investment bank. He became a partner in a US based, consulting firm and ran the Asian Region. He ended his career in NY as President and CEO of a headhunting firm, with over 70 global offices. The firm found senior executives for some of the World's largest businesses and for government organizations. He travelled extensively, and lived in Asia, the US and Europe, enjoying life tremendously, on moderately lavish expenses. He was also Chairman of the Strategic Planning Society, a non-executive director of various organizations and a visiting professor at a UK business school. He is a Freeman of the City of London. He has been married to a Scot for the last 20 years and has three adult children from an earlier marriage. He moved from bad Catholic to bad Buddhist with the help of his three best friends, Jack Daniels, Johnnie Walker and Glen Morangie. His interests include: edible mushrooms, nature, behavioral and evolutionary psychology, neuroscience, people watching and Scottish Country Dancing. He researched poisonous mushrooms, in order to avoid them, when he got the idea for this story, on reading about the 17th Century Italian poisoner, La Spara. He currently lives in Latin America.
