Quirk Mash Up Books…or You Got Your Chocolate in My Peanut Butter

Mash-up books have become a popular trend and I believe nobody does it better than Quirk Publishing.  You take a classic novel like Pride and Prejudice or Anna Karenina, and you add in Zombies or Androids, and you end up with Pride and Prejudice and Zombies or Android Karenina.  All of a sudden great authors like Jane Austen and Leo Tolstoy, are sharing credit with Seth Grahame Smith and Ben H. Winters, and the fun is just starting.  Ben H. Winters also teamed up with Jane Austen to write Sense and Sensibilities and Sea Monsters.

Beyond Quirk Publishing

Seth Grahame-Smith also wrote Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter which also became a major motion picture in 2012.  That book was published by Grand Central Publishing, which just proves Quirk Publishing does not have a monopoly on all the fun.

Speaking of fun, here’s the movie trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

Somebody just gave me a copy of Kevin David Anderson’s Night of the Living Trekkies.  As a Star trek fan this one looks fun.
