Very Good with No dust jacket as issued. 0486235793. 24 leaves, pictorial wrappers, very good. 8-1/2 by 11 inches. From the introduction: Many of the soldiers mobilized by the belligerent powers of Europe in 1014 went off to war clad in colorful array, with spiked helmets, shakos, hats with fluttering feathers, braided kepis and brightly polished buttons, uniforms in the style of the parade-ground soldiers of the late 19th century. They made excellent targets on the field of battle. ~By the end of 1915 most of the warring nations had put their soldiers in steel helmets and drab-colored, functional clothing devoid of brass buttons and conspicuous insignia or embellishment in an attempt to lessen casualties."
