Fine. No dust jacket. Very light edgewear (see scan), no marks or creases. xx, 326 p. 19 cm. The Modern library of the world's best books .. Contains the "Book of Tao, " each chapter of which is followed by a comparable passage from Chuangtse's writings; supplemented by "Prolegomena" and "Imaginary conversations between Laotse and Confucius" by Chuangtse.
Very Good in Very Good dust jacket. Text is clean. Cover shows light wear. Dust jacket shows edgewear and some chipping at spine ends and corners. Some visible shelfwear to back panel of DJ. Red "H" stamped on front free endpaper. Light spotting to side text edges.; Toledano binding style '13', Fujita endpapers, dust jacket style 'l4'.; The Modern Library; Vol. 262.1; 326 pages.
This book is an expanded Tao Te Ching with additional references to Chuangtse that are similar but not not always as relevant as just a contemporary commentary would possibly be. Purchasing The Collected Wisdom of Chuangtse as a separate book to be studied and the Tao Te Ching I've found more useful and have since relegated this book to my shelves. It is a convenient size though and gets packed for trips.
