Good. Crisp, clean pages; no owners' marks; spine square and uncreased. Soft cover is faded along the spine and has a rectangular patch of surface wear at the left front, unfortunately affecting the picture of Mr. Short, as well as a reddish smudge and some light, pale cup rings at the upper rear and some shelfwear at corners and spine ends. Nonetheless, a sound copy of a book about the farm labor movement during the Depression, an Iowan minister-mayor-legislator-editor who championed the cause, and an anxious time not unlike our own, one that called for an intelligent and creative leader.
