First edition. 8vo. 333 pp. Illustrated from photographs, plates, line drawing vignettes. Posthumously published non-fiction sketches, mostly about hunting in Africa. Bookplate on half-title, else very good. Gilt-stamped two-tone decorated cloth, illus. dust jacket. (7337).
Very interesting book that tells about the life of both black and whites in the 1940's - 1960's.
Very " colorfull " in portions but tells it like it was during that time. Goes into the hunting aspect along with the problems facing the farmers/ planters and the growing unrest of the native population. Mr. Ruark has several books about his time and experiences in Africa and everyone is worth reading both from a hunters interest and historical points of country, life style and human view points
