Pages clean except for a few small tears in the right margin of page 91 and mild toning throughout; no owners' marks; binding modestly relaxed, but square and secure; full tan cloth hard cover shows a tap and short wrinkle at the top right front corner, dimming and a short scratch on the spine, some gentle gray handling smudges front and back, and spots of rubbing with a few points of fraying at corners, spine sides, and spine ends, otherwise clean and sound, with the classic red-and-black multi-panel cover illustration and inked title and decoration at the spine. 216pp. Apparent later printing, as the four-page publisher's catalogue at the back of the book shows 17 titles in the series.
