It does look as though you could bypass that and hear the whole recording. Record size is a 45 with small central hole. Interior text is clean and sharp. Color and black and white illustrations throughout, One page about halfway through has small crease to upper edge. Exterior has only minor bumps and dings but is overall in excellent shape.
