Good. These two volumes are clean and straight, with clean text pages, decorated end pages, square corners, and firm hinges. No dust jackets. They are in red library binding, with gilt stamping on the spines. Volume 1 contains the three parallel texts of Piers the Plowman, and Richard the Redeless. Volume 2 contains a 91-page preface by Skeat, as well as extensive notes and a glossary. The books have library numbers on the spines, university library nameplates, and remains of pockets. The spine of Volume 1 is cracked, and page 145-6, and pages 195-224 are present but detached, while pages in between these are held only by stitching.
